Grandmother's Garden Grandmother's Garden

Grandmother's Garden opened in 1984 and closed in 2024. It was the inspiration of Hazel Wolff who had just returned from living in America where she had become 'hooked' on patchwork and quilting. It has grown from those small beginnings to become New Zealand's leading Patchwork and Quilting Store.

The store was located at Gordonton in the heart of rural Waikato, and was online 24-7 until June 2024. In the midst of an acre of landscaped gardens, the shop itself nestles in the ground floor of an elegant three-storeyed home. There was plenty of on-site parking for the many visitors who come from far and wide.

At the last count before the store closed there were several thousand bolts of cotton fabric to choose from, but the range changed as new fabrics arrived almost daily. Grandmother's Garden is and was well known for its wonderful range of quilt kits, many of which are exclusive as they are designed by the talented staff and tutors.

As John and Hazel have now retired, this store has closed after 40 years in trade!
We thank everyone for their years of loyalty and being part of our quilting family.

The emailed newsletter from Hazel, will continue to keep everyone in touch.
